2008 Brooklyn SR6
Color: Red and Black
Weight: 45 lbs.
Setup/Build Kit:
2007 Rock Shox Totem Coil
2008 Fox DXH 5.0 Coil
X0 Derailleur/Shifter
Easton Bar/Stem
Avid Code Brake Set LE White
Shimano Saint Crankset
Transition Revolution 36 Wheelset
Favorite Riding Spot: Diablo Freeride Park, BMW
Riding Style: "The newest gravity sled on the Brooklyn roster, the SR6 was designed from the ground up to rule the mountain…all of it. From Whistler’s A-line to the dark forests of Highland Mountain, it’s proven itself to be a flickable freeride chassis that you can still pedal all day. Hand made here in Brooklyn from Aircraft grade 4130, the SR6 has three rear wheel positions to tune your ride to the trail and incorporates our signature floating brake mount to eliminate chatter and brake jack. Combined with 67 degree head tube angle (with a 160mm fork) and tight 16.5" chainstays the SR6 geometry gives sure footed-handling on any trail." BrooklynMachineWorks.com
Final Word: If you love your downhill bike, but you want something a little more freeride, the SR6 is the one. It handles great on all drops and jumps. It is as close to a downhill bike as you can get, but still not. You can be as aggressive on it as you want, without having the sluggish feel of a big hit bike. After riding it at Diablo Freeride Park, it is easy to say that the SR6 can handle all terrain. For all of those Brooklyn Riders out there, this is the ULTIMATE second bike. If you love your Race Link but you wanna do more than just go downhill, this is the perfect bike for you.

Check back soon after I take it for a ride at Sprain Ridge Park for some more info. on its pedaling abilities.
Brooklyn Race Link
Color: Dark Purple and Grey
Weight:52 lbs.
Setup/Build Kit:
Avalanche DHF USD Fork
Avalenche DHS Shock
X9 Derailleur/Shifter
Avid Code Brake Set
Profile Crankset
Mavic 729 Rims w/ Chris King Front Hub and Hadley Rear Hub
Straightline Pedals
Favorite Riding Spot: Diablo Freeride Park, BMW
Riding Style: "From Mammoth Mountain to Alp d’ Huez, the Brooklyn Race Link has become an international benchmark of speed, quality, and performance in the world of downhill mountain biking. Hand crafted from 4130 aircraft chromoly, the Race Link is the frame that you’ll be able to abuse season after season. At the heart of the linkage and drive system is an avalanche DHS remote reservoir shock custom tuned to your weight, terrain, and riding style. By utilizing a co-centric swingarm and jack shaft pivot, there is zero chain growth, and zero pedal feedback through all 9” of rear wheel travel. Combined with a floating brake mount that effectively eliminates brake jack and chatter, the Race Link possesses superior pedaling and braking characteristics. Three rear wheel positions and an eccentric bottom bracket allow wheelbase and BB height for varying race conditions." BrooklynMachineWorks.com
Final Word: This bike will eat up anything you throw at it. I mean ANYTHING. Compared to all other downhill bikes, it is one of the most quiet and responsive ones I have ever ridden. If you are looking for a big mountain, downhill, eat up evertything in its path type bike, the Race Link is the way to go. The Avalanche especially has been there for me when I have needed it. There are so many stories I can tell you where whether the wind caught me or I was just being sloppy, the bike saved me from ending up hospitalized.

2008 Transition Covert
Size: Medium
Color: Baby Blue
Weight: 33 lbs.
Setup/Build Kit:
2008 Fox 36 Vanilla R Fork
2008 DHX 5.0 Air Shock
X9 Drivetrain/Shifters
FSA Bar/Stem
Avid Juicy 7 Brake Set
Truvativ Stylo Crankset
Transition Revolution 32 Wheelset
Favorite Riding Spot: Sprain Ridge
Riding Style: "The Covert was designed for those that love to pedal and rail long singletrack rides. If you are worried about weight but love to ride trails aggressively, the Covert gives you the best of both worlds without the weight penalty. The low slung frame and stiff rear end makes the bike snap around corners with the greatest of ease. The 5.5” of travel is plush enough for any rough trails and occasional jumps you come across but also allows the bike to pedal with the best of XC crowd." TransitionBikes.com
Final Word: Transition describes the Covert as their "all-mountain" bike. There is no better description. This bike can go anywhere and do everything. It pedals like a much lighter cross-country bike and has no problem keeping up on the downhills. This is the only bike I need for riding any trail because it can handle anything that I throw it, and then some. This truly is the best all-mountain bike out there.

2007 Transition Gran Mal
Size: Medium
Color: Gloss Blue
Weight: 47 lbs.
Setup/Build Kit:
2008 Marzocchi 888 RC2X White
(Not in picture)
2007 Fox DHX 5.0 Coil
X9 Derailleur/Shifter
FSA Bar/Stem
Magura Gustav Brake Set
Shimano Saint Crankset
MTX Rims w/ WTB rear hub and Chris King front hub
Favorite Riding Spot: Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Dirt Merchant
Riding Style: "The Gran Mal is designed for the rider that requires the largest amount of travel possible. From bike parks to the roughest DH courses on the planet. The Gran Mal delivers massive amounts of plush so you can focus on your riding and not your bike. If you don’t like to back down from any stunt, rock garden, jump or drop then the Gran Mal is your only choice. For a large travel bike, the Gran Mal pedals remarkably well for those that need to pedal." TransitionBikes.com
Final Word: I have taken this bike everywhere from Whistler B.C. to the knarliest XC trails in Westchester, NY. Being kind of heavy for XC, it was a little tough but the bike pedaled like a champ. The thing that really gets my adrenaline pumping is the 8.75 inches of rear wheel travel or as I like to call it the the "Endless Travel". With the amount of things I have literally run into and over, the bike makes them feel like a little curb. I don't consider myself a sloppy rider but when I run into a messy situation, the Gran Mal saves me from running head on into that tree.

Fox 40 RC2
Fox DHX 5.0 Coil
X9 Derailleur/Shifter
Transition Temple Lite Stem

E-Thirteen Chain Guide Limited Colorways Edition

Crank Brothers 5050 Pedals
Favorite Riding Spot: Diablo Freeride Park
Final Word: Whoever says you have to pay alot to get a great quality mountain bike hasn't ridden a Transition Gran Mal. This bike is as solid as they come, all custom and built up by Endless Trail owner Ricky White. My first ride on this monster changed my skill ability 10 times over. When this bike is on any trail, especially Diablo I forget I have only had it for 5 months and am only an intermediate rider at best. It is built just as well as its higher priced competition and delivers in performance just as well if not better. I have had not one problem with it. Believe me, I have had some treacherous rides on this and it has saved me a couple of hospital visits. Don't sleep on the Gran Mal. It's the Gran Poo Ba of mountain bikes, a sleeper.
HAVE A GREAT DAY.
